Biography
Based in Winnipeg (Canada), the Animata Strings is a dynamic ensemble comprised of four young professional string players. Since our inception in 2003, the Animata String Quartet has performed in various settings including formal concerts, wedding ceremonies, banquets, corporate events, and recording studio projects.
Our members have studied music at various universities including the University of Manitoba, Brandon University, University of Ottawa, University of Victoria, and San Francisco State University. Members of the Animata String Quartet have performed with numerous Canadian orchestras including the Winnipeg Symphony, Ottawa Symphony, Saskatoon Symphony, and Thunder Bay Symphony. We are also active in the Winnipeg community as music teachers affiliated with the Manitoba Conservatory, University of Manitoba Preparatory Studies, and University of Manitoba Suzuki Strings Program.
